WB1500E
AWS A5.15-90:
ENi-CI BSEN1071-2003 : E C Ni-CI 3
Low strength weld for cast iron. Deposits almost pure Nickel that is fully machinable. Narrow fusion zone, thus minimal HAZ. Smooth, quiet welding arc.
Can weld all standard grades of grey and malleable cast irons, typically cylinder heads and blocks and pump castings. The stable arc achieved on low currents reduces penetration and dilution, producing machinable crack-free welds.

High strength weld for cast iron. Deposits a Nickel-Iron alloy. Deposit is fully machinable. Narrow fusion zone, thus minimal HAZ. Smooth, quiet welding arc.
Used mainly for welding nodular graphite or spheroid graphite (SG) cast irons. WB1600E is also suitable for welding the austenitic Ni-Resist irons and alloy cast irons.
WB1700E
AWS A5.15 ENiCu-B
BSEN1071:2003 : E C NiCu-B 3
Medium strength weld for Nickel-Copper based cast irons. Smooth quiet arc.
Deposits a Nickel-Copper deposit on all grades of cast iron and gives a machinable deposit with excellent colour match for decorative work.
WB1700E is used extensively for repairing industrial ovens, gates etc.
WB4505E
AWS A5.4-92 : E308Mo-15
All positional, basic coated, 308Mo stainless steel electrode having excellent deslag and bead profile.
Used for welding hardenable high strength steels, such as armour plate with typically 0.3C, 2Cr, 0.5Ni, 0.4Mo.
Materials:- ARMOUR PLATE - MVEE 816 (MoD), Armox 816 (Swedish Steel) Compass B555 (Sleeman). 13%Mn (Hadfield’s) steel Red diamond 14 (spartan redheugh), Abro M (Creusot).
WB4480E
AWS A5.4-92 : E307-26
BSEN1600-97:E18 9MnMo R 5 3
Basic coated, nickel-based electrode for welding nickel-based steels, having excellent deslag and bead profile.
Used mainly for welding and repairing nickel base alloys such as Inconel 82, 601ã, Nimonic 75â, Inconel 600â and transition joints for use in pressure and cryogenic service. Such as 2CrMo to 316H material in conditions of long term creep.
WB4560E
AWS A5.4-92 : E309MoL-17 BSEN 1600-97 : E23 12 2L R 1 2
All positional, rutile coated, 309Mo stainless steel electrode giving a 316/316L deposit. Excellent deslag and outstanding welding properties.
Used mainly for welding molybdenum bearing steels and wrought and cast alloys to Ferritic steels such as 316, 317 and 318 steel. This is known as a transition weld used for pressure vessel fabrications.
For cladding it deposits a 316-type deposit. It is also used for welding high carbon hardenable steel. 15-30FN range.
WB9009E
DIN 8555-83 : E1-UM-350 G Hv350
All positional, basic, low hydrogen electrode. Having excellent de-slag and bead profile.
Used mainly for fabricating and repairing TITAN RAIL CROSSINGS, which has been approved by Railtrack. In addition WB9009E can be used as a surfacing/overlaying medium yielding a hardness value of 350-450Hv. Deposit is fully machinable.
WB9115E
BS EN 14700 : Z
All positional, low alloy, low hydrogen electrode, having excellent deslag and bead profile.
WB9115E is used extensively is the foundry sector where matching analysis of cast and wrought base materials is of prime importance. WB9115E is normally used only when a full heat treatment is applied after welding, such as quench + temper or normalise + temper. This is carried out in order to achieve matching mechanical properties (YS/UTS).
WB9119E
BS EN 14700 : E Fe6 Hv700
All positional rutile coated electrode, depositing Martensitic weld metal with finely divided chromium carbides. Nominal recovery 140%, excellent deslag and bead profile.
Suitable for a wide range of overlay applications in the field of mining, agriculture etc.
In addition is extensively used in sintering plant repairs.
Weld metal deposits 650/750 HV and has a good resistance to impact, abrasion and erosion.
Deposit can only be ground.
WB9229E
BS EN 14700 : E Z Fe14 Hv850
Rutile coated electrode giving 200% recovery for conditions of severe abrasion. Optimum abrasion resistance due to chromium carbide particles in a ledeburitic matrix 850HV
This electrode should be used in applications where conditions of severe abrasion and light to medium impact prevail. Due to its high chromium content it exhibits scaling resistance up to 850°C. Used widely in Agriculture, Quarrying, Mining and Foundries. Deposit can only be ground.
